OM:n konferenssi aktiivisesta kansalaisuudesta

Oikeusministeriö järjestää kesäkuussa Helsingissä mielenkiintoisen konferenssin aktiivisen kansalaisuuden tematiikasta. Puhujiksi konferenssiin ovat tulossa muiden muassa professori Ove Korsgaard (Århusin yliopisto), professori Ann Macintosh (Leedsin yliopisto), Michael Remmert (Euroopan neuvosto), Keboitse Machanga (International IDEA), David Mathews (European Institute for Public Participation) ja David Mc Clure (Yhdysvaltojen General Services Administration Office of Citizen Services and Communications OCSC).

We are delighted to invite you to attend EPACE Active Citizenship Conference on 10 – 11 June in Helsinki, Finland.

The conference is held in the framework of the EPACE project (Exchanging good practices for the promotion of an active citizenship in the EU)which is coordinated by the Ministry of Justice Finland and supported by the European Commission.

The conference will disseminate the outcomes of the EPACE project which is due to end in July 2010. The project has sought to elaborate and exchange good citizen participation practices on areas such as democracy policy and administration, e-participation as well as democracy education. Cross-cutting themes are youth participation and immigrant inclusion.

General themes of the conference relate to assessing and evaluating democratic processes and policies as well as to international democracy exchange and collaboration. In addition, the planned European Democracy Exchange Network for central government officers is due to have a launch meeting in conjunction with the conference.

Among confirmed speakers are Professor Ove Korsgaard (Århus University), Professor Ann Macintosh (University of Leeds), Michael Remmert (Council of Europe), Keboitse Machanga (International IDEA), David Mathews (European Institute for Public Participation) as well as David Mc Clure (the U.S. General Services Administration Office of Citizen Services and Communications OCSC).
